At the public forum, resident Jim (introducing himself as representing Hillsdale Mobile Home Park) asked the council to install pedestrian crossing signs and, at a minimum, painted crosswalks at park entrances. He told the council the park contains 105 mobile homes and that many residents walk between the two sides of the park to reach community areas and services. The council and police said they would inspect the location and consider signage or a crosswalk; the police chief offered to pick a time to review the site in person.
Bob Sayer of Punchbowl (Punchbowl Community Racetrack) thanked the council for recent repaving but raised concerns about shoulders that washed out during storms and ongoing water-runoff that has eroded berms. He also criticized the design and size of a nearby roundabout (rotary), saying larger commercial vehicles have difficulty navigating it; councilors suggested state engineering plans are available and staff will follow up with the state and the engineering firm.
Councilors committed to further review, including an on-site inspection by the police chief and follow-up by the Department of Public Works.
