City receives construction update on public safety building, community center and annex

Ethel told the council the contractor is pushing to meet a targeted week of Dec. 16 delivery for the community center/occupancy milestones and that no pending change orders existed at the time of the report. She said contingency funds were available and that the annex building was close to substantial completion and ready for city occupancy pending punch‑list work.
Councilmembers asked technical questions about sequencing of foundation work and panel erection; the manager explained panels were precast off‑site and panel erection followed foundation work, which accounts for the overlapping percentage figures in the report.
Next steps
Staff will continue to monitor contractor progress, report back on any change orders, and confirm revised milestone dates if the contractor’s schedule changes. Council accepted the report by motion.
