The Town Council voted to award $32,198 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) mini-grants to 23 community projects, following a competitive application process. Town staff reported 53 applications requesting nearly $100,000 in total, and recommended 23 grants that together match the available $32,198.
Amy (staff presenter) said the applications covered a wide range of activities and that the town will notify both awardees and unsuccessful applicants the next day. Staff noted some events will require registration because of limited capacity and that the town will publish a calendar of grant-funded activities so residents can register and take part.
A motion to award the $32,198 to mini-grant recipients was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Council members thanked staff and volunteers (including Molly, Dave Smith, the rec director, Lisonbee Carly, and Charlene) who screened applications. Staff asked awardees to provide short post-event feedback describing participation and lessons learned so the town can evaluate which programming to continue in future funding cycles.
