At the joint meeting, the New Shoreham School Committee approved several operational items on its agenda. Members voted to pursue a formal quote (and bid if required) to install a broadcast system in the school media center so meetings can be streamed; administration estimated a modest fixed-camera installation at roughly $10,000 and noted larger systems would be costlier.
Committee members amended the 2025 meeting calendar to move the June meeting to June 17 at 4 p.m. and the September meeting to September 16 at 7 p.m. The committee also approved tuition reimbursement requests under the New Shoreham teacher contract (Article 11, Section h) for Kate Malo and Lori McTigue; motions were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Operational fleet matters were also discussed. The full-size diesel bus failed an inspection (brake-related), and members moved to surplus or dispose of the vehicle while asking administration to return with options for the smaller bus at next month’s meeting. A mowing contract bid (Quality Caretaking LLC) was discussed but tabled after two members disclosed potential conflicts; the committee will revisit the bid when conflicted members can abstain.
Officials noted routine calendar items and upcoming events, including a grade 9 New York City field trip (March 17–21) and senior project presentations in late April and May.
