Mallard Point developer to file demolition and infrastructure permits; city requires tenant relocation plan

During the city manager’s report, Robert Zednick told the council that the Mallard Point developer notified staff that demolition and infrastructure permit applications (including bulkhead replacement) will be submitted within a week. Zednick emphasized that the city will not issue a demolition permit until all conditions have been satisfied, listing a required work plan that addresses the bulkhead, landscaping, lighting and a relocation plan for below‑market tenants.
Staff said peer‑review contracts are in place to assist review of the submittals and that the city will update the website and notify the community once permit applications are filed. Zednick also said staff will provide more details about the peer review process to the council in the next manager’s report, per a council request.
Councilmembers asked that staff report back with specifics on the peer-review scope and consultants involved when permit processing begins. Zednick acknowledged that request and said staff is prepared to process the applications once the submittals are received.
