Foster council proclaims Nov. 24 Thanksgiving Day, schedules transition workshop

Foster — At its Nov. 14 meeting the Town Council adopted a Thanksgiving proclamation and set a transition workshop date for outgoing and incoming council members.
Unidentified Speaker 3 read the proclamation, which described Foster's community life, volunteerism, conservation efforts (including the Foster Land Trust and Voorhees Farm) and events such as Foster Old Home Days and Christmas in the Valley. The proclamation declared Nov. 24, 2024, as Thanksgiving Day in Foster and was attested in the reading by «Sue M. Dillon, Town Clerk.» The council approved the proclamation by voice vote.
The council also discussed scheduling a transition meeting for Nov. 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the townhouse to brief newly elected members. Unidentified Speaker 1 said the session "will be considered a workshop" and confirmed the public is welcome with the caveat that some closed session items would not include public participation.
Councilors and attendees exchanged thanks and holiday wishes before moving on to later agenda items.
