Public hearing on Village on Chopness Hill expansion continued to Nov. 7 at applicant's request

Attorney Timothy Kane, representing applicant RLM 2 LLC, requested the hearing be continued to Nov. 7 because the owner, Rick Mefford, will be out of the country through Oct. 18 and the application still needs to address questions raised by the planning board. Kane told the council the planning board had asked for additional information after its Aug. 6 meeting and the applicant hoped to return with a favorable advisory opinion from the board.
Councilors moved and voted to continue the hearing to Nov. 7. Kane said he would return to the planning board on Sept. 3 and, if more time was needed, the applicant would seek the Nov. 7 date to complete outstanding items.
What happens next: The application will return before the planning board on Sept. 3; the council left the public hearing open and scheduled the continuation for Nov. 7 to allow the applicant time to complete requested materials and ensure the owner's availability.
