The Glocester Town Council voted to continue two related land‑use hearings submitted by DBH West Gloucester LLC to the Oct. 3 council meeting so the town’s Planning Board can review the proposal and return a recommendation. The matters concern a proposed change to the future land‑use designation of Parcel (Lot 50) and a requested zoning map change from A‑4 (agricultural) to B‑2 (highway commercial).

An attorney for the applicant asked for the continuance so the Planning Board could meet and examine additional materials. Speaker 9 offered the motion to continue the comprehensive plan amendment and the zoning map amendment; both motions were seconded and carried by voice vote.

Councilors explained the local process: once the Planning Board issues a recommendation the council may take final action. Members invited any members of the public present to speak now if they could not attend the Oct. 3 hearing, but noted the full application would be presented in October and formal deliberation would follow the Planning Board’s review.

No votes on the merits of the plan or rezoning were taken at the meeting; the continuances preserve the ability of the Planning Board to complete its review and for the public to comment at the next council meeting.
