Glocester council ratifies appointments, accepts resignation, amends HR consultant rates and signs grant and maintenance authorizations

Council ratified the appointment of Christine Mathau as interim deputy treasurer, accepted the resignation of senior center meal site coordinator Beth Danielson and appointed Jamie Chase as the new part-time meal site coordinator, amended the HR consultant agreement to reflect higher hourly rates, authorized a police NICE recording maintenance contract, and authorized signing an $11,526 senior services grant.
At its Oct. 3 meeting the Glocester Town Council approved several personnel and contract items.
The council ratified the appointment of Christine Mathau as deputy town clerk to serve as interim deputy treasurer and authorized the finance director to proceed. The council accepted the resignation of part-time senior center meal site coordinator Beth Danielson effective Aug. 27, 2024, and appointed Jamie Chase to the part-time meal site coordinator position at $18 per hour effective Oct. 7, 2024. The council also approved placing Beth Danielson on the on-call meal site coordinator list at the same hourly rate.
On consultant contracting, the council voted to amend the independent HR consultant Don Zimmerman’s agreement to reflect updated rates: $85 per hour for on-site services and $70 per hour for services performed from his home office, effective July 1, 2024. Councilors emphasized monitoring hours and staying within the FY25 budget line item.
The council authorized the town council president to sign the annual maintenance agreement for the NICE call-recording equipment for the police department covering Nov. 2024–Nov. 2025. Councilors also authorized the council president to sign a senior center grant agreement from the Rhode Island Department of Human Services, Office of Healthy Aging in the amount of $11,526 to support senior services including nutrition and home-delivery meals.
All motions were seconded and passed by voice vote.
