Glocester council approves a package of victual, liquor and entertainment license renewals with standard contingencies

At its Nov. 21 session the Glocester Town Council granted renewal requests for a broad set of victual (food service), liquor and entertainment licenses covering dozens of local businesses along Putnam Pike and elsewhere, and set standard stipulations for each approval.
The motion to grant renewals (read into the record for each license class) included contingencies common across permit types: payment of all town taxes; building and zoning approval as required; chief of police and fire‑marshal approval as needed; current health department approvals and food manager certification where applicable; Rhode Island sales and liquor permits and, for some liquor licenses, a minimum commercial general liability and property damage insurance policy of $300,000. Many entertainment permits were limited to interior use only, with explicit stipulations where outdoor service was already authorized.
Business names listed on the agenda included GM Pizza; Asado's Kitchen and Bar; Patchadella Deli and Catering; Padgett Farms; Deepatrillo's Pizza and Bakery; Dino’s; Park and Shop; Dunkin’ Donuts; German Farmer Restaurants; Gloucester Little League concession stand; Harmony Corner Store; Hills Tavern and Grill; Mr. Z’s by the Lake; Melody Hill Country Club; Pinewood Pub and Pizza; Tavern on Main; and many others. The council also renewed Class A and Class B retail liquor licenses for Christie's Liquors, Kitson's Liquors and similar establishments.
A separate public hearing covered entertainment licenses; the council read and adopted stipulations limiting amplified entertainment hours and required that doors and windows be managed where there is amplified sound. The council approved all motions by voice vote.
The approvals were forward‑looking: most licenses are valid from Dec. 1, 2024 through Nov. 30, 2025, and each renewal remains contingent on the conditions stated in the motions. Council members noted they expect staff to verify compliance with building, police and fire requirements before final permit issuance.
Unidentified on‑the‑record motions listed the standard language that the licenses "will be for the interior of the premises only and are valid from 12/01/2024 to 11/30/2025," and the council recorded voice votes in favor for the motions.
