Goodhue County sets Oct. 15 public hearing for proposed cannabis ordinance

Land use staff told the Goodhue County Board on Sept. 17 that a county cannabis ordinance is nearing completion and asked the board to set a public hearing date. The board set the hearing for Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at 9 a.m., and staff said a proposed notice will be placed in the newspaper and the draft will be available online and at the Land Use office.
A commissioner cautioned that the board and public had not yet seen the full ordinance language and asked for the draft to be circulated before the hearing so commissioners can review and understand township and city implications. Land use staff said the draft will be provided in advance, potentially before the board’s Oct. 1 meeting.
Staff emphasized that written comments would be accepted to the land use office and that people may also attend the hearing to comment in person.
