Courtney Hansen, director of tourism for Visit Manitowoc, presented the Lakeshore Holiday Parade awards during the council meeting, thanked the parade committee, volunteers and a long list of sponsors, and named the winners. Sponsors acknowledged included Novak Service Center (presenting sponsor), Manitowoc Professional Police Association (judging sponsor), Kohler Credit Union, Tenneco and numerous local businesses and organizations. Hansen said more than 40,000 people viewed the parade video on the City of Manitowoc’s Facebook page after the event and that photos of winners will be posted on the city's Facebook page the following morning.
Winners announced included De Neuer's Woodworking and Improvement, Lakeside Foods, Van de Haay Brandtmeyer Automotive for Holiday Spirit Awards; Downtown Dance Company, Extreme Audio, Lakeshore Foster Family and Friends, the Manitowoc Ballet Academy and Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra in judges' categories; and Alliance Laundry Systems was named "Best in Parade." Hansen encouraged winners to gather for photos after the presentation.
