The Olivette City Council unanimously adopted an ordinance updating the city’s conflict-of-interest disclosure procedure on second reading Tuesday night.
The measure, introduced as Bill 3032, reaffirms and adopts Chapter 115, Article 3 (sections 115.080 through 115.120) of the Olivette Municipal Code to establish a process for certain municipal officials to disclose potential conflicts and substantial interests. Acting City Manager Darren Mann told the council the language aligns with the Missouri Ethics Commission short-form disclosure and that the policy must be readopted every two years.
Council moved the ordinance, the clerk called the roll for a vote and each member voted yes. The clerk announced, “Bill 3,032 becomes ordinance 2,802.”
The ordinance formalizes the city’s required disclosures for municipal officials; staff said the text closely matches the 2022 version and is intended to ensure compliance with state ethics filing practices. No amendments were proposed during the meeting. The council did not receive public comment on the item.
The council will proceed with other business; there was no additional timetable attached to the ethics ordinance beyond its adoption.
