Resident asks Olivette to research short‑term rental rules amid neighborhood concerns

Esman urged the city to compile a list of St. Louis County municipalities with short‑term rental rules and to consider forming a committee to identify enforcement options, inspection practices and templates HOAs could use. He raised practical concerns about occupancy inspections and safety checks, noting repeated turnovers can make enforcement and safety verification difficult.
Staff did not announce a formal next step at the hearing beyond noting the absence of a current Olivette ordinance; commissioners acknowledged the request and flagged it as an item staff should research further.
