Olivette Council approves retaining-wall contract, pension fee addendum and declares vehicle surplus

The Olivette City Council approved several administrative and contract actions at its Dec. 10 meeting.

Pension consultant fees: Council adopted Resolution 2024-255 authorizing the city manager to execute a second addendum to the investment consultant agreement with Marquette Associates. Staff said Marquette requested a fee increase equal to $500 per quarter (or $2,000 per year) for the period July 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2027; the Employee Pension Board unanimously recommended approval and the council voted unanimously to adopt the resolution.

Retaining wall contract: Public works staff presented bids for replacing a legacy retaining wall at 512 Duzer near Irvside Park. Four bids were received and staff recommended JTL Landscaping LLC as the low, responsible bidder. The council authorized the city manager to execute a contract not to exceed $43,362 with JTL Landscaping LLC to remove and replace the retaining wall; the motion carried on a unanimous roll call.

Surplus vehicle: Council declared city asset 0915 (a 2019 Taurus with mechanical issues) surplus, a routine fleet-management action. A motion to declare the vehicle surplus passed unanimously.
