Olivette announces Dec. 17 filing deadline for two council seats, plus community center membership changes

At the city’s December Coffee with the Mayor, the host reminded residents that application packets to run for two Olivette City council seats are available and must be submitted by Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. for the Board of Elections to certify candidate eligibility.
"December seventeenth at 5PM is the final day for anyone wishing to run for office to turn in their packet to the city of Olivette," the host said. The mayor noted the city charter requires candidate packets be certified by the Board of Elections to confirm that names on the packet are registered voters and that at least 25 registered voters from the city sign each packet.
The host also announced there will not be a second city council meeting in December and reminded residents that new community‑center memberships currently carry a 10% discount; membership and rental fees will increase on Jan. 1. The mayor encouraged residents to pick up packets and to attend a February Coffee with the Mayor session that will include the new Saint Louis County Council member, Gretchen Bagger.
The announcements were delivered as part of the mayor’s regular community‑engagement program; no formal votes or council actions were taken during the session.
