Oak Grove proclaims Panthers’ achievements at third annual proclamation night

Oak Grove’s Board of Alderwomen held its third annual Panther Proclamation Night on June 17, when Mayor Dana R. Webb read a proclamation commending Oak Grove High School students for their extracurricular accomplishments during the 2023 school year.
The mayor read the proclamation noting that "Oak Grove High School has a rich heritage and a long history of great pride in all students who are striving to reach their educational goals," and invited students, coaches and directors to the front to receive proclamations and pose for photos. The meeting recognized a range of achievements — including All State designations, district placings and first-place documentary and exhibit awards — across sports (football, soccer, cross country, softball, baseball), choir, band, theater and CTC Skills USA competitions. Directors and coaches named during the presentations included Angie Allison, Charity Shoop and Pat Richard.
Organizers asked recipients to come forward for photos and noted the proclamations would also be sent to schools and classrooms for students who were not present. The mayor said the city plans to continue the annual recognition.
