The Oak Grove Board of Alderwomen voted Dec. 16 to adopt the city's annual budget for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
City staff member Matt told the board the budget presented that night was the same as the version reviewed at a Dec. 2 workshop and that no adjustments had been made. "The 2025 budget not only maintains our fiscal responsibility, but also invests in the services and infrastructure that are essential to a vibrant, sustainable, and thriving community," Matt said. He said the proposed plan contains no new staff positions and does not increase water or sewer rates for 2025.
Major capital allocations called out by staff include repainting the water tower, replacing the White Oaks sewer lift station, other sewer improvements and a $1,000,000 street preservation program. Matt reported total budgeted expenditures of $13,374,855.
The board moved for first and second reading by title only of Bill 24-25, then voted to adopt the ordinance on roll call; the clerk recorded the vote and the bill became Ordinance No. 2,124.
