Maplewood City Council recorded several formal actions at its Sept. 24 meeting and voted unanimously on each item.
Quick Trip liquor license: Council approved a package and Sunday off-premises liquor license for a Quick Trip store at 2633 S. Big Bend Blvd.
Republic contract extension: Council authorized a five-year extension with Republic for trash, recycling and yard waste services; staff and a Republic representative discussed revenue-forecast differences and possible yard-waste drop-off alternatives. Staff cautioned the city will dip into fund balance next fiscal year and recommended considering rate adjustments in April 2026.
Tax rates (Bill 62-61): Council adopted an ordinance establishing the 2024 tax rates for the City of Maplewood and the Maplewood Special Business District; members thanked staff for preparing required filings.
Conditional-use permit — 2867 Laclede Station Road: After the deputy clerk read findings of fact that the proposal met zoning standards, council approved the findings and moved to bring the bill back from the table; the bill to allow a retail shop at 2867 Laclede Station Road was adopted and council welcomed the new business to Ward 1.
