The committee adopted an amendment to Senate Bill 397 intended to clarify language related to Game and Fish and to align terms with regional U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs usage.
Senator Wallace explained the amendment was a "clean up of language" and said Game and Fish was trying to help veterans but needed terminology corrected after consulting the regional VA: "The bill is gonna be a real good bill when we finally get it to the table. Game and Fish is trying to help out our veterans, but we had some language issues, and we needed to go back to our regional VA to get the right terms in there and that's what this amendment is."
The committee heard the explanation, moved to adopt the amendment and carried the motion by voice vote. The chair announced the motion carried and the amendment "now becomes part of the bill." The transcript shows the amendment was adopted and included in SB 397.
