Panel approves concealed-carry fee reduction bill after roll-call vote, sponsor says funding plan pending

The committee approved House Bill 1036, a mirror measure to reduce concealed-carry licensing costs, in a 5–3 roll-call vote on Feb. 14.
Senator Clark presented the bill and said it is identical to a Senate bill previously passed by the panel and had already passed the House and was on the governor's desk. Senator Ingram asked about the status of plans to replenish the funds that would be cut by lowering fees; the sponsor replied that the funding plan was still being worked out.
The committee conducted a roll-call vote. Senators cast votes as recorded: Flowers — No; Clark — Aye; Ingram — No; Hendren — Aye; Flippo — Aye; Rice — Aye; Chair — Aye. The motion carried 5–3.
The bill will move on for further consideration; committee members asked staff and sponsors to continue work on the funding mechanism cited as outstanding.
