Committee members considered a list of interim study proposals (ISPs) referred to the Public Health committee. Sponsors presented brief rationales and the committee voted separately on each measure.
Key adoptions included Representative Boyd's proposal to study demand‑side responses to the opioid crisis; a proposal from Representative Payton and others to study Medicaid expansion efficiency and the potential fiscal impacts of moving services; Representative Boyd's immunization reimbursement study aimed at Medicaid reimbursement formulas; and Representative Gray's study of vapor products, alternative nicotine products and e‑liquids (open vs closed cartridge systems). Each of these ISPs was motioned, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The committee also approved an ISP to continue work on ambulance/ambulatory services begun by a task force and other items appearing on the committee's ISP list. The committee recorded each approval on the record and advanced the selected ISPs for interim work.
