Senator Jonathan Dismay told the Senate Revenue & Tax Committee that House Bill 1719 clarifies that the service of electronic prescription claims is not subject to tax, aligning the language with current practice.
"It clarifies that there is no tax on the service of electronic prescription claims as is the case with other prescriptions," Dismay said, noting the measure is straightforward and recorded in the transcript as having no revenue impact.
There was no public opposition or additional testimony recorded in the hearing. Senator Blake Johnson moved to "do pass" the bill; Senator Deese seconded and the committee advanced HB1719 by voice vote.
