A committee member moved to accept the proposed rules with that clarification; the motion was seconded and the committee approved it by voice vote.
The chair also highlighted rule 9, noting any committee member may request a roll-call vote after a voice vote; one member’s request is sufficient to require a recorded roll-call. The chair said this rule should be consistent across senate committees and reminded members that Judiciary will likely meet frequently to avoid becoming a bottleneck for bills as the session progresses.
