Merriam honors employees and pins new police sergeant at Oct. 14 meeting

At its Oct. 14 meeting the Merriam City Council recognized city employees reaching service milestones and celebrated a police promotion.
City staff identified employees who hit five-year and 10-year anniversaries in the third quarter of 2024 (named in the meeting packet and announced during the ceremony). The council acknowledged a 25-year service award for an administration employee (identified in the transcript as Kaysan), a 25-year award for Rhonda Brombach of the police department, and a 35-year service award for Chief Darren McGough.
The council also held a traditional pinning ceremony for Christopher Myers, promoted to the rank of sergeant in the police department. A police representative introduced Myers and invited family members to participate in the pinning and a group photograph. Mayor Pape and council members congratulated Myers on the promotion.
The recognitions were ceremonial in nature; no council votes were required for the awards. The meeting minutes will include the list of awardees and the promotion.
