Island County introduces new engineers and recognizes long-serving employees

At the March 11 meeting, Island County staff introduced two new public works hires and recognized several long-serving employees.
Public works staff introduced Phoebe Tiv as the county's new traffic engineer, noting her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Washington State University, internships with King County and the city of Lynnwood, and multilingual abilities. Thomas Onlis was introduced as a public works engineer with prior experience at the Washington Department of Enterprise Services and the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.
The board also presented service awards: Brian Levesque (10 years) in the solid waste division at the Camano Island transfer station; Tammy Rose Levitt (10 years) as victim witness coordinator; and Edison (presented as "Edison Megalick") for 20 years of service with Island County public works, with colleagues describing his work on intersection designs, culverts and outfalls.
Commissioners and staff welcomed the new hires and thanked long-standing employees for their service. These personnel recognitions were presented at the start of the regular session; no personnel actions or hiring votes were recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
