Waite Park — The Waite Park City Council on Dec. 16 unanimously adopted the city’s final 2025 general fund budget and certified the 2025 tax levy.
City staff told the council the final 2025 general fund budget is recommended to be set at $13,294,278 and that the final 2025 tax levy is recommended to be set at $11,927,808. Staff also presented a list of requested gambling donations for 2025 and recommended the council approve the list and disperse funds based on availability and timing of past payments.
The council moved, seconded and adopted the resolutions to approve the budgets and certify the levy. Council then moved to approve the 2025 gambling donations as presented; members voted unanimously.
Staff noted the final tax levy must be certified to the county by Dec. 30, 2024. No additional discussion or public testimony on the budget items was recorded at the hearing.
The council also approved a related document including the 2025 goals and objectives, five-year staffing plans, three capital-improvement plans and the strategic plan, all incorporated into the adopted budget package.
