The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization recorded several procedural and program votes at its Oct. 21 meeting.
1) Minutes (July 15): Harold Mitchell moved to accept the minutes and Scott Zelensky seconded; the roll call returned affirmative responses and the motion passed.
2) TIP Amendment No. 1 (FFY 2025–2029): Colleen Medeiros presented a statewide Vulnerable Road User Systemic Safety project that includes crosswalk upgrades, rectangular rapid flashing beacons, high‑visibility paint and accessible curb ramps at locations serving priority bus stops (three in Bourne and one in Falmouth). The MPO voted to release Amendment No. 1 for a 21‑day public comment period and to review comments at its November meeting. Colleen said the contract is approximately $4,000,000 in total across multiple MPOs within MassDOT District 5.
3) UPWP adjustment (FFY2025): Dave Nolan proposed adding language to three UPWP tasks (Route 6 visioning, Climate Action Plan implementation and transit network modernization) to allow a portion of funds to be used for consulting services. The MPO approved the adjustment after a motion and roll call.
4) Transit Asset Management plan (CCRTA): Deb Shores presented the transit asset management plan describing useful‑life benchmarks for buses, cutaways and vans and condition ratings for facilities. The MPO moved to support the plan and recorded an affirmative roll call vote.
5) Adjournment: A motion to adjourn carried by roll call.
