Kim said one proposed change would alter language requiring a standing Foster Grandparent committee; instead the language would allow that committee to convene only when needed to handle personnel matters such as selecting a foster grandparent of the year or addressing specific issues. Kim also said she discovered mismatches between recorded term lengths and the bylaws: several members had been appointed to two-year terms when the bylaws call for four-year terms. She recommended adjusting expiration dates to create staggered four-year terms and noted that staff would separate the bylaw changes from the appointment of a new applicant, Mary Brodick, presenting them as two distinct agenda items at the regular meeting.
Commissioners agreed it would be better to take up the bylaw revisions first and the appointment of Mary Brodick in a subsequent agenda item; no formal action was taken at the work session.
