Cascade County staff presented a three-year renewal of a contract with CGI Communications (doing business as CGI Digital) that would allow the company to produce promotional videos for the county at no cost to taxpayers.
During the March 25 work session, a county presenter (S3) told commissioners the service is available to counties that request it through the National Association of Counties (NACO), that CGI is a NACO corporate sponsor, and that Cascade County has renewed similar arrangements every three years since 2010. "They send a videographer out here and film new footage at our request, and they also revise the scripts," S3 said, adding that the videos are hosted on CGI’s website and that the company funds production through advertising placed around the site.
S3 said there are no substantive changes from prior contracts and recommended approval so the county can begin revising scripts and scheduling the videographer. Commissioners acknowledged the program and noted staff will coordinate with the tourism district and GFDA on content to highlight in the refresh.
No motion or formal vote was recorded during the work session; the item was listed on the consent agenda for the upcoming regular meeting.
