The Commissioners Court approved a ground‑transportation agreement with AirMethods (operating as Native Air) to formalize reimbursement terms when AirMethods provides ground critical‑care transport assistance to county medical teams.
Under the terms described to the court, when the county collects more than $1,000 for a particular transport AirMethods would be paid $300; if the county collects less than $1,000 the vendor would be paid 30% of the amount collected. Staff described the agreement as a shift from purely promotional assistance toward a limited cost‑recovery model because AirMethods can no longer provide all transports as PR events.
The agreement was presented, discussed (staff said the county attorney had reviewed and suggested edits), moved, seconded and approved with authorization for signature. Staff noted that exhibits to the agreement contain the billing examples and that fees are only owed when AirMethods actually provides transport assistance.
