Unidentified Speaker 5 brought forward the item to apply for and accept SB22 state funds for the sheriff’s department, county and district attorney offices. Staff explained the application opens Nov. 2 and that the county has previously accepted similar funds; the county attorney will apply for the year in the new internal process.
Speaker 3 moved to accept the application process and the court approved by voice vote. Staff said they would document acceptance in the minutes and that no separate resolution was required for this application; the grant funds will be audited along with county accounts.
Commissioners commented that the money had been well spent previously and that the process was largely administrative; the item will proceed through the county’s grant and audit processes.
