Taylor County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to enter an executive session at 9:02 a.m. to discuss personnel matters and review a document the court said arrived the previous afternoon. The motion to convene closed-door deliberations was moved and seconded and passed 5-0.
The court opened with an invocation and pledges before turning to public comment. An unidentified public commenter thanked the court for postponing a decision, saying "I appreciate the court's willingness to postpone making a decision on this," and noting that confusion among department heads had been partly resolved though some issues remained to be worked out.
The presiding official told the commissioners the five members wanted time in executive session to speak privately with "Mr. Anderson" and "Ms. Selke" and then to pull in department heads individually as needed to address outstanding questions. The presiding official said the document that arrived the previous afternoon required review by the court in private session.
After no objections to the plan were raised, a motion to go into executive session was offered, seconded and put to a voice/hand vote. The presiding official announced the motion carried 5-0 and recorded the start of the executive session at 09:02 a.m.
No formal decisions beyond the vote to convene the executive session were recorded in the public portion of the meeting. The meeting then moved into the closed session to discuss the personnel matter identified by the court.
