Taylor County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a $64,394 closing budget to assume operations from Premise Health Care, opting not to pay an additional estimated $30,000 to transfer custodial medical-records rights.
County HR/clinic lead Miss Selkie (speaker 8) told the court there were two closing-budget options: $93,374 including custodial transfer of medical records, or $64,394 without custodial transfer. Selkie recommended the lower figure and explained the county could request individual medical records from the clinic’s records provider rather than pay for a bulk transfer. "In order to save $30,000 is something that can be managed," she said.
Commissioner Bertram (speaker 5) moved to approve the $64,394 budget and the county judge seconded; the court approved the motion 5–0. Miss Selkie said the county intends to expand clinic hours beginning Oct. 1 to better serve employees and the community.
The motion covers only the immediate closing costs; operational details, staffing and ongoing clinic funding will be resolved in subsequent implementation steps by county staff.
