Court approves joint and special election orders; lists offices to appear on Nov. 5 ballot

On a related item, Miss Reagan presented a petition submitted by the City of Ty to order a special election to fill three city-council vacancies that had deprived that municipality of quorum. The county verified the petition’s signatures: of 42 submitted, 38 were validated, exceeding the 26‑signature threshold in the local government code. The court ordered the special election to be held jointly with the county on Nov. 5.
The court voted 4-0 to approve the joint election resolution, to adopt the order of election and to order the special election for the City of Ty. Staff said early-voting locations and dates are listed in the order and branch locations will be finalized and returned to the court for approval.
Next steps: elections staff will finalize early‑voting branch locations for court approval and proceed with intergovernmental contracts for joint election services.
