Commissioners adopt annual signatory resolution and accept prior proceedings

The Carter County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an annual resolution designating officials authorized to sign county warrants and accepted the written commissioner proceedings for Jan. 6, 2025.
During the meeting on Jan. 13, the chair read the resolution establishing who is authorized to sign county warrants, noting the list includes school board members, the county clerk, district court officials, the TV district and payroll/claims administrators. Unidentified Speaker 2 moved the adoption of Resolution 01132025-O1 and Unidentified Speaker 3 seconded. The board solicited public comment and heard none before taking a voice vote; commissioners responded "aye" and the chair recorded that all three commissioners signed and dated the document (Jan. 13).
Later in the morning, Unidentified Speaker 3 moved and Unidentified Speaker 2 seconded a motion to accept the commissioner proceedings as written for GEN 01/06/2025. The commission again called for public comment, heard none and carried the motion by voice vote.
Both actions were recorded on the meeting record. No member of the public spoke in opposition or offered comments during either vote. The board noted the clerk will finalize the signed documents and proceed with routine filing and distribution.
