Council members moved to order preparation of the proposed assessment and to set a hearing for 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21; the motions carried and the council approved Resolution 24091601 to authorize the assessment process.
Why it matters: Assessment hearings are the formal step that allows property owners to review and, if necessary, contest charges that will appear on their tax statements. The hearing also finalizes the apportionment of construction, engineering and testing costs across benefited properties.
