Council hears public-safety update and community-events announcements; tree lighting Dec. 7

Tree lighting: City staff (Mr. McFarland) announced the eighth annual Wyoming tree-lighting ceremony will be Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4:30–6 p.m. at Railroad Park. Confirmed participants include Dance Factory, Sunrise Apple Farm, Chisago County, Anima Sano, a clogging group and the Lions Club tent; the staff member mentioned a rumored special appearance by Santa and encouraged council participation.
Scout project: Mr. McFarland updated the council that Scout Troop 57731 installed a little library at Ashton Park on Oct. 23; the library has been operational for about two weeks and photos were provided. Staff noted at least three official little libraries were installed as scout projects and others exist on private property.
