Wyoming designates Fallbrook Avenue no-parking to improve visibility for emergency and service vehicles

Mister Reeves explained that part of the corridor previously allowed parking for Fairview employees but that parked vehicles now create tight conditions for plow operators and emergency vehicles. He said the change follows internal department conversations and coordination with Fairview administrators. City Engineer Mark Erickson and public-safety staff were cited as participants in those discussions.
Council members raised practical concerns about where employees who smoke outside the hospital will go if the parking is removed and about whether the city should limit restrictions to winter months. Staff and council said winter-only enforcement had been considered but could cause confusion; the council favored a straight no-parking designation year-round for clarity and public safety.
Council approved the resolution by voice vote after motion and second; staff said the change will be implemented with signage and education and that enforcement would initially focus on informing drivers rather than issuing penalties.
What happens next: the city will install no-parking signs for the designated stretch, coordinate communication with Fairview about employee parking options, and monitor enforcement and safety outcomes.
