A Kinetic representative described steps the firm is taking to strengthen fundraising efforts, including committee training scheduled for July 18 and updated fundraising goals and timelines. The speaker said Kinetic agreed to a three-month period without billing and that staff had extended an additional month to provide lead time while training and committee work ramp up. "We're committed," the representative said, adding that the firm aims to provide the council with written commitments on fundraising progress by the next review.
Staff summarized the MOU as a clarifying document that does not replace the existing contract but specifies that Kinetic will provide training to the fundraising committee (training is not counted against the 80 contract hours), name a primary Kinetic representative, and develop an updated goals-and-timeline document with the city. A council member moved to approve the MOU; a second followed and the motion carried by voice vote.
The MOU approval establishes the council’s expectation that Kinetic provide training and documented fundraising milestones. The contract remains in effect; the MOU is intended to make obligations clearer and provide benchmarks that staff and the council can use to hold Kinetic accountable.
