Dimmit County’s commissioners approved multiple budget adjustments during the meeting, including funding to cover jail expenses and a transfer to pay autopsy costs.
The court approved a jail budget adjustment of $144,750 to cover expenses for the remainder of the fiscal year. During discussion, the judge noted proposed funding sources including $56,000 from a city deputy line, $8,000 from fringe, $76,000 from permanent full-time payroll lines and other smaller adjustments. The motion was made and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The court also approved budget adjustment number 114 from the district clerk’s office after a brief motion and carried the item by voice vote.
On agenda item 3.4 the commissioners approved budget adjustment number 131 to transfer $30,000 from the catastrophic fund to cover autopsies for undocumented immigrants. The motion was made, seconded and carried.
Following routine business the court recessed and adjourned.
