At the commission’s request, the applicant agreed to lower a portion of a wrought‑iron fence to 4 feet near a lake viewing area to improve sightlines for patrons while maintaining an 8‑foot masonry wall elsewhere. Commissioners added conditions to move the garbage enclosure closer to Lakeview Parkway, require the 15‑foot compatibility buffer with tree plantings along the north boundary, mandate the masonry wall and revise the wrought‑iron continuation to 4 feet, and require nighttime surveillance cameras and notification to authorities in the event of trespassers. The motion to approve the PD amendments passed 4–1.
What happens next: Staff will incorporate the commission’s conditions into the PD ordinance and forward it to City Council for final action. The applicant must complete any TxDOT permitting and comply with the final PD conditions before building permits are issued.
