Frio County announced a Veterans Community Resource Day scheduled Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Frio County conference room (across from the courthouse) to connect veterans, surviving spouses and caregivers with VA benefits representatives and local service providers.
County officials said the event will include information on health care and wellness, education and employment, housing and benefits, mental-health counseling and other supports. The county asked veterans and family members to attend and take advantage of the services and networking opportunities.
The announcement was made during the Commissioners Court special meeting as part of general discussion; no formal action or funding was taken during the meeting.
