The auditor introduced two bids: a John Deere unit described as "new condition" with about 59 hours priced at $175,000 and a second offering that included a Tiger/Bengal mower variant priced at $198,500. Commissioners debated attachment compatibility, hours and whether the lower-priced unit included a transferable dealer warranty.
Commissioner Martinez moved to accept the lower bid; Commissioner Carrizales seconded the motion and the court voted to approve the selection. Commissioners asked staff to confirm warranty coverage and final specifications before completing procurement paperwork.
The court recorded concerns that the two bids differed in brush-cutter configuration and called for staff follow-up to verify whether warranty protections would transfer with the sale. The county will issue purchase orders and finalize vendor paperwork once documentation is confirmed.
