Commissioners approve sheriff contracts for jail health, patrol computers and body cameras

The sheriff said the recommended contract represented a 4% increase over the previous base and listed a one‑year base amount of $209,444.52 for the current contract period.
For patrol computers and software (12b), Stewart recommended a four‑year agreement with Peacemakers Technology (replacement of aged equipment and software integration with JP systems); funding is included in the county budget under Senate Bill 22 funds. Commissioners approved the contract on motion.
For mobile and body‑worn video (12c), Stewart presented a Lenslock four‑year proposal to add roughly 60 body cameras and 29 in‑car units and to consolidate cloud storage and maintenance; the sheriff reported the company had been under test in about 8–10 vehicles for a year. Commissioners approved the Lenslock contract; staff confirmed funding from SB22.
Each contract was approved by motion of the court; commissioners discussed future competitive bidding for jail health services and aligning contract terms with the fiscal year. The sheriff and staff will follow up on contract language and implementation schedules.
