At its Oct. 22 meeting the Town of Rutland Select Board completed several routine approvals and voted on budget and personnel items.
Minutes: The board moved and approved the Oct. 8 Select Board minutes by voice vote.
Firefighters: Fire Chief Chris Clark presented two firefighter applications that passed background checks and the board moved, seconded and voted to approve both appointments; the chair recorded "motion carries 4 to nothing." No additional conditions were stated.
Tobacco license: Town Clerk and Treasurer Carrie Clark asked the board to approve a tobacco‑substitute endorsement application for the Stewart Shop (the liquor license for the same business had been approved at a prior meeting). The board moved and unanimously approved the tobacco permit and authorized signatures.
Sidewalk reimbursement: Town Administrator Bill Sweet presented Invoice #1 for the Route 7 North sidewalk project with an invoice total of $2,083.79 and a stated town 20% match of $416.76; the board moved and voted to approve the reimbursement request and authorized the chair to sign the paperwork for submission.
Executive session and adjournment: The board later entered a brief executive session to discuss a possible land transaction and reconvened to adjourn the meeting.
