Harrison County Commissioners voted to approve the elections canvas and to adopt a resolution canvassing returns from a special election held Nov. 5, 2024, related to the proposed Harrison County Assistance District No.1. The court recorded that the proposed district did not pass.
Elections official (Speaker 8) presented the canvass materials and exhibits and thanked elections staff for handling what the official described as a large election with few equipment failures. Asked about turnout, the elections official estimated it was "either like 60.2 or 62" percent and said they would check the precise figure before finalizing records.
Commissioners approved the canvas and the resolution by unanimous vote (4–0). The court also discussed related administrative paperwork necessary to finalize the canvass and noted attorneys provided language for inclusion in the summary exhibits.
