Commissioners approve juvenile-placement contracts, Bluebonnet Trails MOU and several routine items

Gonzales County Commissioners Court approved a memorandum of understanding with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services for psychiatric services at the county jail, multiple juvenile placement contracts, an interlocal detention agreement, surplus property declarations and other routine actions including forensic consulting for the Randall Rader Building.
Gonzales County Commissioners Court approved a series of contracts and routine administrative items during the session.
The court approved a memorandum of understanding with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services to provide psychiatric/psychotropic services to inmates at the county jail; staff characterized this as an annual request and the court voted to approve the MOU.
The court also approved annual long-term residential placement contracts for juvenile offenders with Right of Passage Incorporated and named facilities (Oak Lake, Granbury Youth Services, Monarch Academy for girls) and separately approved a contract with the Gulf Coast Treatment/Trade Center. Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement between Fort Bend County Juvenile Board and the second 255th Judicial District juvenile probation board to provide detention services serving Gonzales and neighboring counties, and approved a short-term detention contract with the Guadalupe County Juvenile Services Facility.
Other approved items included declaring two Unimac dryers and two Unimac washers surplus and authorizing sale on GovDeals; an order for destruction of property that received no bids; approval of a phase-1 forensic consulting proposal for the Randall Rader Building; adoption of the 2025 county holiday schedule; and approval of a revised retiree medical insurance policy with an effective date noted during the meeting (discussion referenced October 1 as the effective date).
Each of these items was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Commissioners noted rising placement rates for juvenile services as background context when approving the long-term contracts.
