Bandera resident says Smithsonian exhibit will come to town; archive will digitize local film

During the visitors-to-be-heard portion of the City of Bandera meeting, Patricia Moore told the council the Smithsonian is bringing an exhibit to Bandera as a cooperative effort among local institutions and partners.
Moore said the project involves local partners including the Frontier Times Museum and a local historical commission and indicated the planned exhibit site is the Nader Middle School cafetorium, "one block off of Main Street," which she said does not conflict with school dates and meets the exhibit—s size needs. She requested logistics support and left sign-up forms with the council.
Moore also announced an offer from the Texas Archive of the Moving Image to digitize local Super 8 and home-movie footage shot in the county. She said the provider would digitize and return originals, with materials retained in the archive, and that the only fee would be based on the amount of footage to be digitized. Moore suggested local drop-off at the Frontier Times Museum or the Convention of Mysteries Bureau and volunteered to assist with delivery logistics.
The presiding officer closed the public comment after noting the three-minute time limit. Council members expressed appreciation and noted the project is ongoing; no formal council action on the exhibit was taken at the meeting.
