Elmbrook board approves wellness-clinic move, science curriculum and easement; accepts nearly $96,000 in gifts

The Elmbrook School Board on Dec. 6 approved four action items after staff presentations and brief discussion.
The board approved the wellness clinic renovation and relocation after a motion to adopt the proposal as presented. Trustees praised the clinic as a value-add that saves the district money and provides student services; the board approved the motion on a roll-call vote, 5–1 (Kathy Lim voted no; Linda Boucher was absent). The administration said the clinic has saved about $1 million a year historically and the relocation is intended to expand services and improve access.
The board also adopted the high-school science curriculum and associated primary resources by voice vote after a presentation from Emily Greiber, who said the materials had been reviewed by the Teaching and Learning Committee earlier this fall.
Separately, the board approved an easement with We Energies at Pilgrim Park to improve utility service delivery to district facilities. Trustees stated the easement had been presented previously and offered operational benefits to Pilgrim Park and Dixon.
Finally, the board accepted recent gifts to the district totaling $95,708.33 for educational programs and publicized that donors will be listed on the district website.
Next steps: the wellness-clinic relocation will proceed under the terms presented and the administration will implement the curriculum materials for high schools as approved. The easement and gifts actions were finalized at the meeting.
